Wharfinger's Press is opening a small window for submissions towards the second issue of The Mayfly.

The Mayfly is a zine-styled publication that exists for a single day during the month of May.

It will be available exclusively in print form and released through locations associated with the contributors, with the strict instructions that the zine is to presented and made available for one day only. After which all and any remaining copies are to be burned or returned.

This is an experimental project.

Very limited submissions will be accepted but we will read and respond to every piece we receive.

There is no submit fee, nor specific theme. Send us your weird, wacky, wonderful words!

The Details: Submit your writing, with no genre limitations. All that we ask is that you aim to keep your submission to under 1200 words. Experimentation with style and format is acceptable and encouraged.

Please refrain from the obvious types of writings that most any publication would refuse to print.

Submit your writing by email to: wharfingerspress@gmail.com

Please use 'MAYFLY SUBMISSION' in your subject header.

Attach the file as a .doc or .docx, Times New Roman, 12pt, double-spaced.

You may also provide a link to a Google Document but if you do, make sure to adjust the sharing options so that we can view it.

Deadline: April 10th, 2024

We look forward to reading your submissions!

The Legal Stuff: We will only retain first printing rights in as much to make the zine a reality. All rights revert back to the owner and their work will not be presented in any other format beyond the one day print copy of the publication. Accepted submissions will receive a package of print copies to release on the specified day, with the understanding that they are to only be released on that day, after which they are to return or burn the remaining copies.

(Burn is preferred. Go find a nice place to enjoy a fire.)
